USPTO’s Brian Hanlon on Supplemental Examination

email

On February 3, 2012, PLI hosted the “Post Grant USPTO Proceedings 2012 – The New Patent Litigation” seminar. This program was taught by a faculty of judges, preeminent lawyers, and industry leaders who have earned national reputations in patent litigation and in post-grant proceedings at the USPTO. During the panel entitled, “Reexamination Practice & Evolution – USPTO Perspective” the panelists shared how ex parte patent reexamination, and reissue and supplemental examination will impact current and future patent filings.

Below is a clip of panelist Brian Hanlon, Director of the Office of Patent Legal Administration at the USPTO, discussing how supplemental examination is a new opportunity for patent owners to have something considered, reconsidered, and corrected by the PTO.
